Music School Update:

Summer Music Fun!

We will be offering a variety of fun and educational musical activities during the summer. These activities will be in addition to the regular piano lessons.

The special days will be once a week over a 12 week summer season, beginning the week of May 28th. The time will be from 10 A.M. until 2 P.M., with the exception of a few field trips that may last a little longer.

Some weeks the day will be Monday and some will be on Tuesday. We will have a schedule with the date and activities available on Monday, April 30th. A new summer private lesson time schedule will be available at this time, also on a first serve basis.

Some of the activities will include:

  • Group Musical games with prizes
  • Group ensemble (several students play together on several pianos)
  • Lots of new and fun computer musical games
  • Music discovery (try all the different instruments out in the store using headphones
  • Pizza & ice cream parties
  • Summer music student performance
  • Teacher Concert
  • Field trips (maybe Pizza & Pipes in Ellenton)

Much, Much More!
To accommodate summer vacations and plans, we are offering the lessons and activities in segments of 4, 8, or 12 weeks. These segments can be scheduled for ANY weeks during the 12 week season and don't have to be consecutive. They do have to be scheduled and paid for in advance.

The more weeks you enroll in, the less the cost will be. Here is the plan:

  • Four weeks: Summer Day (each) $30 plus private lesson $20 ($210 total tuition)
  • Eight weeks: Summer Day (each) $25 plus private lesson $20 ($360 total tuition)
  • Twelve weeks: Summer Day (each) $20 plus private lesson $20 ($480 total tuition)
  • Some extra expenses will be incurred for field trips and food.
  • Private lessons must be taken to qualify for Summer Day sessions.
  • Private lessons are available without Summer Day participation.

Miss Megan & Miss Paulette will be supervising these sessions along with our staff assistance. These summer sessions will be a lot of FUN!!

Meet Our Teachers

Meet Dave Mussatto!!

Born and raised in Clinton, Indiana, Dave started taking accordion lessons at the age of 7, continued for 18 years by 3 different teachers. The final teacher was jazz accordionist "Leon Sash" in Chicago, IL. Dave's family started a band when he was 12. Both he and his father played accordion. His mother played the clarinet and his sister played the drums. Dave and his Mom, Dorothy, still play together for various occasions.

Dave has taught music lessons since the age of 18 which included accordion, piano and organ. He has worked for several companies, but has now made his home at Music Matters! He has been working for us since November 2003! It's amazing how time flies when you're having so much fun!

Currently, Dave has 3 classes at our New Port Richey location on Tuesdays.

Please call regarding class schedules and times.

Meet Shane Edwards!

Shane teaches a styling class which includes adding extra notes to your music. He helps to give you ideas on how to set up your instrument for the song that he hands out each week. All of Shane's students love his style and method of teaching. He has the talent of making a simple EZ-Play song sound like a huge orchestra and shows a lot of different ways to make a song your own. Shane teaches at our New Port Richey AND Sun City Center locations.
